Rhonda Swanson, Assistant Organist

Rhonda Swanson, MM, holds a Master’s degree in Organ and Church Music from the Indiana University School of Music, where she was a student of Oswald Ragatz.  She also holds a BA in Music from Gustavus Adolphus College and an associate’s degree from Cottey College.  Following her master’s degree, she received an American-Scandinavian Foundation grant for postgraduate study in Copenhagen, Denmark, studying with Grethe Krogh and serving as organist-choir director at the American Church of Copenhagen.  Rhonda joined the FPC Music Department staff in 1996; she previously served as organist for congregations in middle Tennessee, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri and Denmark.  She is an active member of the Nashville Chapter, American Guild of Organists and was co-coordinator of the 2012 national convention of the American Guild of Organists.  Rhonda and her husband Greg have a son, Erik.
 
As Assistant Organist, Rhonda is the Music Department’s contact point for weddings and accompanies the Sanctuary Chorale.  She enjoys sharing her love of worship.  Soli deo Gloria!
