Nicholas Bergin has served as the organist at First Presbyterian Church since 2012 and as editor since 2019. In addition to this, he works as a freelance editor for The American Organist magazine and Ancient Faith Publishing. An active member of the American Guild of Organists, he also edits Pipelines, the monthly newsletter of the Nashville chapter, and has served as chapter dean.

Nick holds degrees in organ performance from the Peabody Institute and the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and he has had significant internships at the Church of St. Michael and St. George in St. Louis and Christ Church Cathedral, Indianapolis. He has studied organ with Wilma Jensen, Janette Fishell, and Donald Sutherland, and piano with Seth Knopp and Timothy Hester.

Born in Sweden, Nick grew up in Houston, where he attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and St. Thomas’ Episcopal School. When he is not working, he enjoys contra dancing, playing bagpipes with the Nashville Pipes and Drums, and spending time with his lovely wife, Rachel, and their plus-sized cat, Osage.
