Dr. Keith Moore, Director of Sanctuary Chorale

A native of Alabama, Keith came to Nashville to teach at Belmont University after three years at the University of Cincinnati, where he earned his doctorate. Upon arrival, he was approached by Henry Fusner to become a section leader in the choir in 1980-81. About 16 years later, the same sort of invitation was issued by Pam Schneller.

Keith holds the B.A. Degree in music from the Jacksonville State University, the M.M. Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Louisville and the D.M.A. Degree from the College-Conservatory of Music at University of Cincinnati. Solo singing and choirs were always the focus of his studies.

From the age of 16, Keith has worked as a choir director in Baptist churches in Alabama, a Presbyterian church in Louisville and a Methodist Church in Cincinnati. The longest periods of service were as Minister of Music at First Methodist Church (14 years) and at First Presbyterian (15 years).

Music is, for many, an important vehicle for participation in worship. Keith loves interaction with musicians and congregants, the beauty of fine worship music and the unifying element music can bring to a service. His doctoral cognate studies were in choral conducting and literature.

Keith offers his best efforts as a gift to God, out of gratitude for His active involvement in his life and that of his family.
